보령머드축제 7월 17~25일 개최
(보령=연합뉴스) 이은중 기자 = 충남 보령머드축제추진위원회(위원장 신준희 보령시장)는 올해 머드축제를 '세계인과 함께하는 신나는 머드체험'이란 주제로 오는 7월 17일부터 25일까지 열기로 했다고 13일 밝혔다.
위원회는 해마다 7월 둘째 주 토요일 시작하던 것을 장마를 피하기 위해 셋째 주 토요일로 옮겼으며, 축제장소도 시민탑광장에서 해수욕장의 중심인 머드광장으로 옮겨서 열기로 했다.
주요 행사로는 머드 셀프마사지존을 확대해 운영하고 머드몹씬, 머드마네킹 경연대회 등을 대표 프로그램으로 강화하기로 했다.
또 머드에어바운스 체험 등 체험행사 22개와 거리행진 등 연계행사 16개, 비보이 공연 등 야간행사 10개 등 모두 55개 프로그램을 운영하기로 했다.
특히 축제분위기를 띄우고자 머드체험의 날을 운영하고, 머드축제 사진 순회 전시회, 머드스쿨 운영 등 시민이 참여할 수 있는 다채로운 행사도 마련하기로 했다.
추진위는 이에 앞서 마케팅 강화를 위해 내·외신기자 및 여행사 팸 투어, 국내외 인터넷 홍보 등을 통해 '2010 한국방문의 해' 및 '대충청방문의 해'에 맞춰 한국의 대표축제로 뿌리내릴 수 있도록 할 계획이다.
신준희 추진위원장은 "지구촌 머드 마니아들이 '머드시티' 보령에서 마음껏 즐길 수 있도록 알차게 축제를 준비하겠다"고 말했다.
